Dr. Lenny Kristal

Chairman

Lenny received his Ph.D. in Psychology at Cambridge University with a Postdoc at Oxford. It was his work as a corporate HR consultant that first inspired Lenny's ideas about delivering interactive games online to measure, match and rank cognitive performance.  In 2000, he founded MatchPower (later Cognisess).  Working with the England rugby team which won the World Cup, and with other sports teams internationally, set the stage for NeuroSlam. 

Matthew Kwok

Matthew Kwok's range of experience spans the digital media industry, from technical consultant to executive producer. In 2001 he founded and helmed Kwokman Productions. Under his leadership the company developed a reputation for high quality sports content, establishing relationships and ongoing contracts with Monday Night Football, ESPN College Football, HBO Boxing and the British Open, among other telecasts, domestic and international. Matt swam competitively for 25 years and competed at the Sydney 2000 Summer Olympic Games.

Wayne Ferriera

Retired from professional tennis, Wayne Ferriera was a 14-year ATP Tour veteran, finishing the 1995 and 1996 seasons ranked in the Top 10 in the world. He continues to play at ATP Champions Tour and coaches at all levels of the game. Wayne co-founded EcoloBlue, a company focused on water ecology solutions where he has served as president and CEO. 

Dr. Anat Perry

Anat, a multi-award winner in neurocognitive science is a Postdoctoral Fellow at UC Berkeley, concentrating on Social Cognitive Neuroscience. Her research focuses on understanding social phenomena in terms of interactions between the social environment (social cues, contexts, experiences, and behaviors) and cognitive and neural mechanisms.   Her work includes behavioral, electrophysiological, pharmacological and neuroimaging research in both healthy and clinical populations. 

Dr. Rachel Perl

 Following an MA in economics, (summa cum laude) at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Rachel received her Ph.D. at the Wharton School of Business, focusing on organizational behavior and family/team dynamics as they relate to performance and decision-making. Rachel will apply her findings and seminal approach to team building, interpersonal dynamics and social skills training.

Krista Kezbers

Krista Kezbers is completing a Ph.D. in Health and Human Performance at Oklahoma State University. She is researching health behaviors and physical activity of coaches and looking at effectiveness of sport psychology and neurocognitive training on athletic performance. Krista is competing in the 2015 World Championships for USA Triathlon in Aquathlon and was selected to help coach at the 2014 USA Swimming Central Zone Select Camp.

Tommy McHugh

Tommy McHugh is a web and mobile developer consultant and a 2014 Google I/O Academic partner. Tommy has worked on projects and products related to music, health and sports. He is an avid developer of open source technologies and the creator of Dart Android Runtime which enable developers to build Android apps in the Dart programming language. 

Jason Schuck

Jason has over ten years experience as a Visual Designer and Video Editor in sports and entertainment broadcasting, most recently with Kwokman Productions where he does live production of college and professional sports for ESPN.  He has been the creative lead on projects in the United States and internationally.

Lauren Ruhl

Lauren Ruhl - is interning with NeuroSlam. She graduated with an M.A. in Sport and Performance Psychology at the University of Denver, where she coaches girl's club basketball teams. A former College level player herself, Lauren focuses on psychophysiology training, particularly the use of biofeedback and neurofeedback with athletes, helping them reach their optimal performance. 

Gabi Whitmer

Gabi Whitmer graduated from Emory University with a B.A. in Psychology and an M.A. in Sport and Performance Psychology at the University of Denver. After playing 4 years of college basketball, Gabi was inspired to work with highly motivated athletes, teams, and coaches. She is currently pursuing a Master's in Sport and Performance Psychology at the University of Denver. Gabi coaches club-level basketball and does mental skills training for athletes at the youth, high school, and collegiate level.

Interns


Trevor Docter

Trevor Docter is NeuroSlam's intern research analyst, is currently a pre-med student at Columbia University, New York and is a member of the Columbia Lightweight rowing team. In 2013 he won the US Rowing Youth National Championship in the lightweight 8+.  Trevor has personally engaged in extensive neuro-feedback training with positive results and will share the fruits of that experience to improve an athlete's cognitive performance. 

Jeremy Morgan

Jeremy Morgan is a Senior at Berkeley High School and rising Freshman at Duke University. He is passionate about computer science, robotics, the internet of things, embedded micro controllers, and everything in between. Having suffered several concussions while playing soccer and football, Jeremy is excited to work with the Neuroslam team in order to assist coaches in diagnosing concussions and helping athletes play sports more safely.
